My name is Fritz Scholtz Brits, and I am excited to join the Sure Growth Family as an Agronomist. This position has me looking forward to adding value to the company and its customers for many years to come.
I grew up on a farm in the Northwestern part of South Africa. This was a mixed farming operation with irrigation field crops like corn, peanuts, potatoes, and alfalfa. We also farmed with Santa Gertrudis and Holstein cattle.
In 1998 I graduated from the University of the Free State with a degree in Genetics and then specialized in the Agricultural field of Plant Breeding for my post graduate studies. My interest in management and Business put me on a course to pursue an MBA at the Northwest University and achieved it in 2017.
I have worked for 18 years in various seed businesses managing research operations. Monsanto and Bayer were some of the companies I have been a part of. This taught me much about how to bring cutting edge products to the marketplace.
While doing research for commercial companies, I have also farmed on my own property. This was mainly an irrigation property with various crops like corn, beans, vegetables, and pecans. I also operated a weaning herd of Santa Gertrudis cattle on this property.
I have a wonderful family with a wife and three daughters aged 17,15, and 14. We all are passionate about sports and enjoy spending time outdoors. My passion for aviation inspired me to obtain a PPL pilots license in 2009.
