Deanna grew up on a 5th generation family farm that was established in 1903 near Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. In 1999, her parents took the chance on diversifying the farm into bison, which was the first in the area. Deanna’s childhood was spent helping her Mother and Grandmother in the garden, helping to raise the bison, and at the age of eight successfully convinced her Dad to let her operate the grain cart. Deanna has ran the grain cart every harvest since. Her close working relationship with the family farm has taught her to work hard, plan for the best and to be prepared for the worst.
Deanna’s passion for Agriculture led her to further pursue education in the College of Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan. In December 2021, she will graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Agribusiness and a Minor in Field Crop Production.
Deanna has spent her summers during university working for Monsanto, Bayer and Cargill. Her career goal is to be an asset to farmers and ranchers.
